David was born in 1955 and brought up in East Yorkshire, he studied painting at Bath Academy of Art, Corsham from 1973 to 1977.
In 1984 he took a break from painting to pursue a career as a musician andĀ restore an Edwardian house, and it wasn't until 2003 that he took up his brush again.
David lives and works in York, concentrating on the rolling landscape of the East Yorkshire Wolds. He presents us with grand, contemporary rural visions with an emphasis on detail, executed using a glazing technique derived from fifteenth and sixteenth century Flemish and Venetian painting.
David's painting, entitled "Millington", was entered in The Threadneedle Prize exhibition, at the Mall GalleriesĀ in September 2009.
