The Medici Gallery introduced the work of Glenn Harrington during our Summer Exhibition, 28 June - 27 July 2007.

Glenn Harrington’s paintings feature figures that portray a natural elegance and reflect a mixture of experienced realities and the artist’s inventive musings.

His work moves easily from the present to the past, but his models are always related to the present moment, though they are adorned in elements which may suggest another time.

He has received numerous awards including this year’s awards:

The Draper Grand Prize, Portrait Society of America, May 2007, Washington DC.

Award of Excellence, Oil Painters of America, May 2007, Fredricksburg Texas.

Born: New York , 1959

Education: Pratt Institute, BFA 1981

His paintings have appeared in museums and galleries nationwide including the Museum of American Illustration, New York , the Norman Rockwell Museum in Massachusetts, the Gibbes Art Museum in South Carolina and the Art Institutes in Houston, Dallas and Miami. An exhibition of his paintings has travelled to Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.
