Caroline Chariot-Dayez
Biography

Caroline Chariot-Dayez was born in Brussels in 1958. Though painting has always been a major part of her life, she studied philosophy for her degree, which she teaches, and this informs her approach to her art. Her work is profoundly influenced by the french phenomeShe concentrates on the subtle variations in the tone and colour of shadows of crumpled and folded white fabric. This meticulous observation is important to her as the process of the alchemy of painting is one of her main inspirations and the fold carries many layers of meaning for her. Her works have been exhibited extensively in Europe, most recently in an installation at Brussels Cathedral where the paintings with their spiritual and meditative tones and compositions were shown to great effect.

All her canvases are painted oil on wood.
